Mama Cax (Cacsmy Brutus) was a Haitian-American model, advocate, and motivational speaker. She was born on April 19, 1989, in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in Haiti. At the age of 14, she was diagnosed with bone and lung cancer, and doctors gave her only three weeks to live. However, she beat the odds and went on to become a successful model, as well as an advocate for disability and diversity representation in the fashion industry.


Mama Cax was known for her distinctive style, which included colorful and bold fashion choices, as well as her trademark prosthetic leg. She was also a frequent speaker at events, where she discussed her experiences as a cancer survivor and as a person with a disability.


In addition to her modeling work, Mama Cax was an advocate for disability rights and worked to promote greater diversity and inclusion in the fashion industry. She passed away on December 16, 2019, at the age of 30, but her legacy continues to inspire many people around the world.

Despite her health challenges, Mama Cax went on to become a successful model, working with major fashion brands such as Tommy Hilfiger and Olay. She was also an advocate for greater representation of people with disabilities in the fashion industry and for greater accessibility for people with disabilities.


Mama Cax was known for her positive attitude and advocacy work, which led her to be named a UN Women’s Advocate for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women and Girls. She passed away in 2019 at the age of 30, but her legacy continues to inspire and motivate people around the world.
